High Waisted Granny Panty
I am trying to figure out what are considered to be granny panties. Is it a brief, a bikini cut, or are all big panties considered to be granny panties? And why do people joke about them so much and why are they so hated.
I am speaking as a crossdresser, and a dear friend of mine who helps me dress up, always tells me not to buy granny panties. When I ask why he says I am only 22 years old and that I should wear something more fashionable.

Granny panties are the underwear that old people usually wear.
They are the ones which have a high waist line and are somewhat baggy, usually in plain white or nude colors.
Think about the film Bridget Jones abd the big knickers she wore.
Bikini cuts, tanga’s, thongs aren’t granny panties, just make sure you buy ones that don’t have a high waist line.

Granny panties are underwear which go right up to your stomach, just below or above the belly button. I guess they are so hated because mostly older people wear them and they do nothing to flatter the ass unlike low cut panties, thongs and g-strings etc.

I hate them because they feel old and I don’t feel sexy or confident wearing them. Its the equivalent to boys hating their tightie-whities, and preferring to wear boxers or brand names such as Papi, Sauvage, Puma, Hugo Boss, and Zimmerli.

Every woman has at least one pair of granny panties in their panty drawer, so okay the other styles are more popular but the Granny Panty will always be around. The panty comes up to the navel and the back panel of the panty covers the bottom completely.
But the term Granny Panty is a slang name it’s not a style on its own, it can be a Full cut brief, a French cut brief, Full or a Deep brief depending on how the manufacturer markets them. They will never sell them as Granny Panties.
When Renee Zellweger wore a pair in her role as Bridget Jones in the movie, Bridget Jones’s Diary the term Granny Panty became popular and was ridiculed.
I like to wear them sometimes because I find them comfy and better for hiding the panty line, well not as good as a g-string but I hate those anyway.
Also I always wear them when I am having my period.

I couldn’t disagree with the above post more. Granny panties are the kind that our mothers wore and yes they are a full nylon brief that comes up over the belly button, but that does not mean they are not sexy. The sexiest ones are Vanity Faire which are sold at Sears and other department stores. You can buy them with or without lace. There are many of us that prefer them as they are the most comfortable.
